Text Message Breakup

In today's world texting is used for almost all basic conversations. Any where from asking your mom for a recipe, texting pictures of your amazing day at the beach,  or even reminding your significant other that you love them. But can you go too far?

For some texting to end a relationship is okay, I on the other hand feel it is immature. That person obviously meant something to you if you were in a relationship in the first place. This means they deserve the time of day to get to hear why you are ending the relationship. I personally don't feel texting is as meaningful as a face to face conversation. When you text you don't get to hear the meaning behind their voice or see the expression in their face. But what if they are avoiding me or won't answer my calls? Simple leave them a voicemail. That way it is off your chest but they still get to hear you saying it rather than reading it on a phone screen. If you are in a long distance relationship, same thing a voicemail is ten times better than a text.

Texting can be used effectively in many situations but if it is important texting should not be a means of communication. You wouldn't normally ask someone out over text so why would it be alright to break up that way?
